UR and URPlus Pharmacy Management
At CVS Caremark, we utilized evidence-based medicine and national guidelines to develop this suite of clinical initiatives to assist physicians in optimizing CVS Caremark members’ care.
Through the analysis of members’ prescription and medical resource utilization, our clinical pharmacists identify high-risk members and engage physicians in adherence to best practices, providing consultations to reduce potential clinical misuse.
CVS Caremark pharmacists may contact prescribers with suggestions for optimizing medication therapy for a specific member. The decision to modify any prescription in response to this program is made solely by the prescriber.
